Hi all,
This is my first time posting a comment in the forum. Pardon for my intrusion as my son is the member of Mensa, not me.
He is currently in Primary 1 and the blatant truth is he is very bored in school. Therefore I coach him on his academic subjects and I work according to his own strengths and weaknesses. In school, he can enhance his social skills in school. Due to the disparity in chronological and mental age, he has to learn to relate and work with peers of same age.
Personally I feel that kids with relatively higher IQ does not need any further academic enrichment classes. But it is important to stimulate them with challenging materials to keep them occupied. For example, my son was into Astronomy and we would read and explore in depth. Currently his interests has shifted to biography of Leonarda da Vinci and Chess. To me, it does not matter how much he has digested but most importantly, he is enjoying every minute of it.
