Do your thesis at SUTD and try to get in touch with the professors at MIT. From what I hear about reaearch in Singapore is very restrictive. If your serious about this, I can put you in contact with a friend of mine who did his thesis in spectroscopy and is currently teaching advances mathematics and physics.
